Discover Atlanta Cultural Academy: Preparatory Program

Atlanta Cultural Prep seeks to provide an educational experience that combines loving care with social, emotional, academic, and artistic development. A carefully balanced and supervised program has been designed for our children. The preparatory classrooms (2 years-5yrs old) will follow a Montessori curriculum. This curriculum will help our children with independent living, coordination, concentration, and order.

Each classroom is a specially prepared environment designed to meet the needs of children this age allowing them to become independent and engaged learners. Toddlers have a genius capacity for mental absorption and are encouraged to quietly and intently explore and discover.

We work to create an enriching environment both inside and outside and often refer to classrooms as 'The third teacher'. The staff spends a great amount of time assessing, planning and arranging the environment to promote and facilitate a child's natural interest in the world around them.

Located in the vibrant Fayette County, Ga, our educational institution offers a nurturing and enriching environment for young learners. Here's what sets us apart:

Each class is led by 1 head teacher and supported by 2 assistant teachers or 2 co-head teachers.

Our classroom schedules vary based on age groups, ranging from 8:30 am to 12:30pm for ages 2 and those children that are only doing the Day Program students and extending to 8:30 am to 1:30pm for those participating in Enrichment and Languages.

Our nursery program is for 2-year-olds, while our pre-kindergarten program is for 3-5 year-olds by August 31 of the matriculation year.

 At Atlanta Cultural Academy Preparatory, our mission is to nurture young hearts and minds in a joyful learning environment. We blend progressive education and fine arts immersion to ignite curiosity, understanding, and engagement with the world.

We focus on nurturing the whole child socially, emotionally, and intellectually. Our primary goal is to develop a love for learning in every child.

Our curriculum is child-centered and play-based, emphasizing inclusivity, diversity, and essential life skills such as relationship management, discovery, empathy, self-advocacy, and respect.

Here's the daily schedule:

Monday to Friday:

• 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM: Arrival and Morning Circle Time
• 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Montessori Work Cycle (Independent and guided activities)
• 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM: Snack Time and Socialization
• 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Outdoor Play or Gross Motor Activities
• 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Nap time and Relaxing Sounds
• 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Group Activity or Story Time
• 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM: Lunch Time and Preparation for Departure

This schedule aligns with the Montessori philosophy, allowing toddlers to engage in self-directed learning activities during the work cycle, followed by opportunities for socialization, outdoor play, and group activities. It also provides a balance of active and quiet periods, fostering holistic development in young children.

Preschool Morning: $9,000 (Part-time 3 days a week w/Enrichment/Language or 5 days no enrichment)

Preschool Full-time: $14,500 (Day Program and Enrichment/Language)

2024-25 School Year Tuition Rates

School year tuition can be paid in full, or set up on a payment plan. Payment plan payments can be made:

• Semesterly: two equal tuition payments due before the beginning of each semester.​
• Monthly: in equal tuition payments over the school year.
• Late pick up fees are $1.50/minute.
• Tuition is due on the 1st. Tuition is considered late as of the 3rd day of the month. A late fee of $50 will be automatically applied to any delinquent account. Enrollment is forfeit at 15 days overdue.
• A registration fee of $110 and an annual activity fee are due with each student's registration each year (waived if tuition is paid in full for school year)
• A $2.00 convenience fee will be added to all credit card transactions.
• Summer camp registration is separate from school year registration.

Cancellations and Changing Days

1. The regular enrollment period runs from February 1st to May 1st for the following school year and summer camps. Changes and cancellations made during the regular enrollment period and prior to May 1st will be eligible for refund of the May tuition deposit and any pre-paid summer tuition.

2. The rolling admissions period begins May 2nd and continues throughout the school year as spaces are available. Cancellations of enrollments made during the rolling admissions period are eligible for May deposit refund for two weeks following the date of enrollment.

3. Parents are free to add or change days at any time, depending on availability. Any additions and changes are considered permanent. As planning and scheduling are done weeks in advance, temporarily changing days to suit a vacation schedule is not permitted.

4. Please let us know if your child will not be in school due to illness or family vacation. No make up days are permitted.

5. Families who must leave us during the school year due to changes in family schedule or relocation will have the May deposit applied to their last month at IPS, provided we have received one month’s notice. Deposits cannot be credited to any tuition currently due.

Annual Activity Fee

The annual activity fee covers curriculum supplies, capital equipment, and special project supplies. It is currently $30 per day enrolled for the school year. Summer supplies are calculated separately.

Deposit

The one-month deposit required for enrollment is applied toward your child’s July tuition payment. Therefore, parents will not have another tuition payment in July. Please refer to cancellation policies above for deposit refunds.

We follow a rolling admissions process during the school year for students interested in current enrollment.

Admissions applications for the 2024-25 school year open August 15th for open enrollment (new families.) Enrollment is accepted online.

In order to ensure a spot in the program, ACA must receive:

• One month’s tuition deposit to be credited toward May 2025 tuition
• Activity fee and registration fee
• Completed application form

For applicants who will be placed on the wait list, ACA needs only the completed enrollment form.

Our enrichment daily schedules vary as students rotate through Art, Music, Dance, and Languages (Spanish, French, Mandarin). All activities in our curriculum are age-appropriate and tailored for the inquisitive minds of preschoolers and toddlers. By integrating Art, Music, and languages into our daily schedule, International Preschools cater to every learning style. Below is an example of our daily schedule.

This schedule provides a balanced rotation of enrichment activities and language lessons throughout the week, ensuring students have exposure to a variety of subjects and opportunities for cultural and creative exploration.

We believe that parents are an essential part of our school community. We encourage parents to get involved in their child's education through volunteering, attending school events, and participating in parent-teacher conferences. We also offer workshops and resources to help parents support their child's academic success.
